What We Do

The research in Taratula Lab is focused on the development of nanomaterial-based multifunctional drug delivery systems for application in the diagnostic and treatment of cancer, endometriosis, and cachexia. Employing nanomaterials for overcoming the drug delivery obstacle is one promising approach for transporting agents of interest (drugs, genes, imaging probes, hyperthermia, etc.) specifically to the targeted cells or proteins. The lab collaborates within the OSU College of Pharmacy as well as Earle A. Chiles Research Institute of Providence Portland Medical Center, Oregon National Primate Research Center, Department of Pediatrics in School of Medicine, and others. The main goal is a translation of the developed nano-drugs into clinical practice.
